Diaz to Co-host Soccer Kids of America Coaching Instructional Seminar
Soccer Kids of America Volunteer Coaching Instructional Seminar to be held on August 29th in Raleigh will be co-hosted by Dr. Stephanie Diaz and Erin Johnson, Founder of Soccer of Kids of America
All Fall 2009 Volunteers Coaches will attend the first SKA Instructional Seminar to learn the new program curriculum, guidelines, and methodologies that Diaz, Johnson, and Dr. Brian Greenwood have worked so diligently on all summer. The 2-hour seminar will combine novice and experienced coaches in a traditional classroom and field setting for PowerPoint instruction and soccer skills demonstrations. The leadership has worked to increase the resources provided to the volunteer coaches including a coaches manual, procedures, forms, templates, lesson plan addendums, further internet and reading. The revamped curriculum will give these first time coaches an opportunity to more wholly educate participants with lessons that cover healthy lifestyles (fitness and nutrition), psycho-social development (life skills), and gross motor skill development (instructional soccer).
The Instructional Seminar will be in the greater Raleigh, North Carolina area on Saturday, August 29th at the America Institute for Health and Fitness, 8300 Health Park, Raleigh, NC 27615 (near Six Forks Rd/ Strickland Rd.) from 10am to 12pm. There are signs to the 'Conference Center' they will direct you to the closest parking and to the conference room which is on the bottom floor of the facility where the America Cancer Society is also located.
WANT TO HELP? It is SKA's goal to recruit and retain wonderful and highly dedicated individuals. Participants' expectations, inventive ideas for recruiting additional volunteers, and creative genius is more than welcome. Additional coaches are can still register and attend the seminar and participate in the Fall 2009 SKA Season. Please contact Erin Johnson to receive more information about participation in the program and general requirements.
