Les Hamashima

With more than 20 years of global marketing and corporate communications experience, Les has held senior management roles at Verizon, SAS and Motricity.  Within these organizations, he played a management role in creating, and developing corporate social responsibility functions--each having a primary focus on strengthening local K-12 education programs.  Les brings a corporate community relations perspective to SKOA which is valuable as the organization looks at avenues for sponsorship and funding.  Over the years, he has been a consistent volunteer in K-12 public schools and, though his children who play soccer, he has seen the positive impact that sports has on character development.  At Transite, Les blends his entrepreneurial interests along with the range of prior roles and responsibilities to develop an efficient strategic marketing function that generates new revenue while integrating strong internal and external brand development and management.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in journalism from the University of North Carolina.
